BC Rail has one of the largest current fleets of 1950's built Budd self propelled rail cars. They run regular passenger service daily with these Vancouver to Lillooet and 3 day a week service beyond this to Prince George. Also The Whistler Explorer train runs with one car during summer months weekdays from Whistler to Kelly Lake. The West Coast Rail Tours runs an annual Charter trip with these cars all the way up the BC rail line to the end of rail in Fort Nelson near the North West Territories border. Front and year views of a 3 car train northbound to Prince George at Kelly Lake. Note engineers stand in front photo, light covers come off, replaced when train is not facing forward. Most cars are equiped with a engineers station at both ends of the car. The controls and seat fold down for operation.
