The Whistler Mountaineer started operation May 2006 as a tourist rail passenger service between North Vancouver and Whistler. Bus transfers are made between downtown Vancouver hotels and the train station, and between the train and hotels and downtown Whistler. This runs on the former British Columbia Railway that did operate several different passenger rail services. The train runs daily in season. There is Coach Classic service; coach seating with boxed meals, or Glacier Dome service with a regular coach converted with larger side windows and windows in the upper sides of the roof, giving a great view to mountains above. The meals in Glacier Dome are served on china at your seat with a few extras over the coach style boxed lunches; Breakfast on the morning trip to Whistler afternoon tea on return Both classes have access to the vintage open car from the West Coast Railway Association; The Henry Pickering has seats and open windows in the center section and open air standing area on either end of the car.
